Does ByebyeData Eraser work on partitions?
Yes, this program works on partition.
In addition to that, ByebyeData Eraser also works on disks, free space, unused space, individual files and folders.
Sometimes drives can be disks too according to your disk map in Disk Management, for example, you've plugged in 2 USB flash drives on the computer, then you'll get two more disks in Disk Management and 2 more Drives in Windows Explorer.
So, in order to confirm the selected partition is the target partition, it's advised to run Disk Management and check the disk-map if you're not so sure.
Check the main interface of this software. All functions are listed on the left tabs.
I can't wipe my C partition, why?
I can't even select C partition to erase when I run ByebyeData Eraser, this item is greyed out. Can't Eraser wipe C partition?
C partition is where Windows OS installed on, we cannot erase it when it's running on C Drive but we can do as follow to wipe it out instead:
- Erase C partition from WinPE ByebyeData Eraser.
- Erase this partition from another computer.
For the first solution, we can create a bootable CD or USB in ByebyeData Eraser. Just Run the software and click Bootable media, then create the ISO file, then burn to CD or USB, boot from it and click Erase entire drive and Select C Drive to erase.
The second solution, on the other hand, is to remove the hard drive from the computer and connect it to another Windows computer, which had ByebyeData Eraser install too. And then you can erase this partition like other logical drive.
Please Note that when the hard drive is connected to a new computer, C Drive is not displayed as C drive but other Drive letter, so run Disk management again and find the primary partition on Disk 1 (Disk 0 is the new computer's boot disk), or find the first partition of Disk 1 (always be the first partition), or just locate it with the capacity of this partition you remembered, anyway, it's easy to locate it in Disk Management tool.
