Secure eraser software ByebyeData Eraser
We have made up our mind to create the secure eraser software after studied many of this kind in this market, some of which divided Eraser software into many sub-type, for example: Drive Eraser, Mobile device Eraser, File Eraser, Removable media Eraser, LUN Eraser and Virtual Eraser. Why made so many erasers when you have the ability to develop an all-in-one Eraser? And this is common to other eraser software; long amount of them would like to make erasing individual files as a separate tool; some drive eraser cannot wipe system drive, or the entire Windows disk; some cannot boot from media;
So here we're: the bootable secure data eraser software within all the erasing function like erase disks, erase drives, erase free space and erase files folders, ByebyeData Eraser. Here're more details:
1 Erase hard disk drive features
After a detailed and earnest study and research, we decide to make a data killer which can be run on any storage device (internal or external hard drives, SSDs, USBs, SD cards etc.) and supports all types of file system of all kinds of Operating Systems (Windows: FAT/exFAT/NTFS; Apple: HFS+; Linux: Ext2/Ext3/Ext4 and Unix UFS file systems), which should has all the following functions:
1. Erase entire disk
Erase everything on the disk, along with the operating system itself. This should be very useful when we want to disposal old hard drives or computer. Large companies would erase all the disks when sensitive or business data need to be wiped clean. Also useful when computers are infected by virus and you want to clean install Windows again. Or you want to wipe server disk data for reuse. You have the options.
2. Erase entire drives
Many users installed single disk to the computer but have many partitions or drives, for erasing certain drives instead of erasing the entire disk, this should be the best option when you have C Drive or system drive separated by other partitions you keep personal data. Because by doing so, you don't have to reinstall the operating system to clean off private data.
3. Erase free space
Deleted files still have traces of contents left behind and any random data recovery software has no difficulty to get data back. Erase free space, however, can erase all the deleted space containing traces of original files. To make sure data clean after deleted files, erase free space is the essential step.
4. Erase files and folders
Use the Delete button on the keyboard or the format option from the right-click menu will not really make data clean, the content still lays in the free space, that's why we need to erase free space after commonly deleted files, but instead, we can directly erase files and folders to save the effort of delete them files and empty recycle bin. Erase files and folders in ByebyeData Eraser is permanently erasure, there is no chance for even the most professional data recovery program to retrieve data.
2 Erase to 14 different standards
14 different erasing algorithms are categorized to four types: simple, advanced, complex and very complex overwrite method:
1. Simple overwrite: also known as one pass overwrite method, the zero filling method in included. In ByebyeData Eraser, we built-in3 simple overwrite algorithms, they are: write zero (default), write one and write Pseudo-random character. They have the fastest speed in erasing and they are the most welcomed erasing plans.
2. Advanced overwrite: The famous DoD 5220.22-M standard is in the advanced overwrite methods set, along with Pseudo-random & Zeros, GOST-R-50739-95, US Army AR 380-19 and US Air Force, AFSSI 5020, 2-3 passes, medium wiping speed, adopted by many colleges and companies.
3. Complex overwrite: 6-7 passes overwrite methods, slow speed in erasing data, we have 5 standards added to this category: Pseudo-random Zeros, RCMP TSSIT OPS-II, DoD 5220.22-M (ECE), German Standard, VSITR and Bruce Schneier's Algorithm, among which Pseudo-random Zeros is a 6-pass algorithm, the rest of which are all 7-pass algorithm.
4. Very complex overwrite: The Peter Gutmann's Algorithm, 35-pass overwrite method, very slow, extremely slow, the slowest overwrite plan ever (hope you can understand how slow this plan will be after I emphasis it like this). it is still in use because very few companies would insist this wiping method for top security.
3 WinPE bootable media
In order to wipe Windows operating system, a bootable eraser program is needed. Windows will not allow programs to kill itself when the operating system is running, so we need to do it before it boots into Windows, that's why a bootable media is required.
ByebyeData Eraser can create bootable media for a blank CD, DVD or USB to kill Windows OS along with other personal private data. Besides, you can use the bootable Eraser to wipe stubborn files or undeletable files if you can delete file when Windows is working.
4 Erasure Report
Erasing data always take some time, especially when you have large capacity hard drives or selected a multi-pass overwrite method for the entire disk. So we made a report on the erasure task, you can check the report after the erasure progress is finished. We'll list the status of the selected item after erased them in ByebyeData Eraser.
