1. How to create ByebyeData Eraser ISO file?
ISO file is for burning this program to bootable media, including CD/DVD/USB, In the main interface of ByebyeData Eraser, Click Bootable media
2. How to create bootable CD/DVD?
In Windows 7, Windows 8, 8.1 and Windows 10, you can directly double-click the ISO file we created in ByebyeData Eraser to open Windows Disc Image Burner and do the followings when you plugged in the blank CD/DVD:
1 Click the Dropdown menu of Disc burner to select DVD R Drive(Drive letter:)
2Click Burn and you can see the status goes like: Burning disc image to recordable disc..
3Click Close when you see the message shows successful.
3. How to create bootable USB?
This's no default tool in Windows to burn ISO file to USB, we'll use Rufus instead, click here to choose the right version to download. When you plug in a backed up or a blank USB in, you can check the below steps to burn:
1Click the dropdown menu under Device and select the USB drive.
2Leave both Partition scheme and target system type and File system as default.
3You can specify New volume label as ByebyeData Eraser or just ignore it.
4Check all the 4 checkbox and select ISO Image in the Create a bootable disk using line
5 Click Start and wait for few minutes.
4. How to erase disks?
Before you erasing disk, please make sure a had a backup of important files, because when erasing starts, everything including files, traces, free space, unused space are permanently overwritten, nothing can be recovered! If you're ready, do as follow to erase everything on the disk, no matter you're boot from CD/USB to erase system disk or run this program normally to erase non-system disk or external hard drive:
1Click Erase disk in the main window and click the desired disk to erase. You can select as many as you can, accordingly, time of erasing will be longer on more drives.
2Now please check the security list, there're 4 types of overwrite methods, in which we have 14 erasing algorithm listed, 9 of which are government or country standards, you can check the standards page to learn more.
3Click Erase Now and confirm this operation.
5. How to erase drives?
Like the erase disk function, you can select multiple drives to erase, if you're about to erase system drive, C Drive, the bootable media is required, boot from it and do as follow:
1Click Erase drive tab and select one drive or many drives to erase.
2Select one erasing plan for the drive(s) from simple, advanced, complex or very complex overwrite methods.
3Click Erase Now and click Yes to confirm.
6. How to erase free space?
You can use this function to erase free space, deleted space and unused space on each drive or drives, no hard to system or data you're using, only overwrite and clean up the free space once stored deleted data or traces left. This function can perform even when Windows is running, so it is also safe to erase free space on C Drive. Do the followings to erase free space:
1Click Erase free space and choose drive(s) to erase.
2Select a plan for Eraser from the listed 14 overwrite methods.
3Click Erase Now and click Yes to the popup dialog.
7. How to erase files and folders?
With ByebyeData Eraser you can erase individual files and folders, but system files cannot be erased, Windows will not allow us to, we listed some files and folder in C Drive that cannot be erased. If you want to erase the system, try it in bootable CD after you read thought section 1, 2 and 4. The following steps will guide on how to erase files and folders:
1Click Erase files and folders; in the blank list, click Add files button or click the downward-arrow to Add folders in the list, you can uncheck the certain file or folder if you don't want to erase it after a second thought.
2Select one erasing standard from security column's 4 types of overwrite methods.
3Click Erase Now and confirm, ByebyeData Eraser will do the rest.
Note: Please close all the opened files before you confirm to erase.
