Erase infected computer and reinstall Windows
What will do when the computer is infected? Do a deep scan and remove virus or malware? Stop trying to clean the infected computer with malware removal software, just erase the hard drive and clean install Windows again.
Some users would try to clean the infected computer when anti-virus program can still run, but as you may recall, all the anti-virus software, anti-malware software are vulnerable to the Wannacry ransomware, you cannot even click anything expect the pay button. So, stop trying to clean the infected computer with malware removal software and just erase the hard drive and reinstall Windows!
When the computer is infected and no software are allowed to run, even when the data sanitation programs with administrator account has no access to it, we need another computer which hasn't been infected to create a boot CD and wipe the disk, that's how it would work and the following is the detailed steps:
1 Download ByebyeData Eraser to a health computer, install it to any path, C Drive or other drive, and Run it as Administrator.
2Click Bootable media and follow the guide to create the ISO file, and insert a blank CD/DVD after the file is made.
3 In Windows 7 or Windows 10, double-click the ISO file and burn it to the blank CD/DVD, and take it out. Put it into the infected computer and power on it.
4boot from CD while the screen asks you press Fx to boot from media.
5Click Erase disk in ByebyeData Eraser first and then click the main drive, the main disk you installed Windows, always be the first one, Disk 0; and choose an security plan for the disk; Click Erase Now at last and confirm.

Erase free space after using Anti-virus software
The aforementioned method can be adapted to those computers running very slow and taking much time to respond each single click, but if the anti-virus software detected only one or few virus in a certain Drive, or folder, it is better to use anther function of ByebyeData Eraser to make the folder clean again: Erase free space.
Anti-virus program certainly can remove virus, malware or some ransomware they found, like you can always create a rescue disk of Windows, but still there're chances for stubborn virus to leave trances or tracks, so take the following steps to erase removed virus leftovers:
1 Press Windows + D or click the bar in the right corner of taskbar to go back to the desktop and right-click on the ByebyeData Eraser icon to run it as Administrator.
2Click Erase free space and specify the drive that just removed virus or anything sensitive.
3 Choose a wiping algorithm for the drive or drives you selected, the default one is write-zero, single pass overwrite, is enough for yourself using. Advanced and complex overwrite methods are welcomed by some companies.
4Click Erase Now at last and Click Yes again to perform the erasure.
